A note from Eva about Francisco the Littlest Goat!"One of my favorite things about illustrating for "Francisco the Littlest Goat with the Biggest Adventures!" series is that I know I'll be playing with vibrant colors and a tubby little goat! I love bringing an illustration to life with a little bit of motion. When illustrating, I often feel like I'm painting a key frame from a 2D animated film, and I hope young readers can imagine the rest of the scene playing out within the vignette.
Working with Anita Jo Loercher, author of the Francisco Goat series, is a welcomed experience. We all, Francisco included, love getting outdoors and have a great enthusiasm for the imagination. Anita always has a solid vision for the illustrations in her stories. She wanted the style to be vignettes of brightly colored watercolors with sketchy outlines and shading. All of the books are illustrated digitally. I have had the honor of designing and illustrating for five of the Francisco the Littlest Goat with the Biggest Adventures! books. They include: The Cave, The Ocean, The Halloween Pumpkin, The Castle and the Coloring and Activity Book. It's with excitement that I announce I've been asked to illustrate Francisco's next book!
