What a weekend! The Director of Daisy Belle and myself took a long desert drive in my trusty 2004 Honda from San Diego to Palm Springs for the Pacific Southwest Emmy Awards Ceremony! It's an event we'd been excited to submit to since William Wall told me the story concept for Daisy Belle.
We finally arrived and the cool air of the Weston lobby felt refreshing after the hot walk from the car. I felt myself get a little nervous and excited as I began to see the formal attire, red carpets, and the step and repeats! The place was packed and as we made our way into the crowd the air got a little warmer. We got our seating assignments. Table 42
A few minutes later and the doors to the awards room were opened. The tables were elegantly dressed and every seat had a bag of goodies on it! The stage was dazzling, teasing us all with the golden winged ladies. It was such a delightful and thrilling evening! The people were kind, their speeches inspiring, and the dresses were beautiful! The bags were even filled with vegan & vegetarian goodies!
And the rest is a blur, but I can tell you our 4 person team won each and every Emmy we were nominated for! What a great night!
The making of Daisy Belle was unforgettably fun, and so packed with learning experiences that I'll use in films to come. I'm so proud of Daisy Belle and the team for all of the hard work and skill they dedicated to making this small art piece! I would have been fine if we'd all gone home empty handed, but I'm really happy we didn't!
Congratulations team Daisy Belle!
I love stories, people, discovering new mediums to play with, and music.
